Edan Alexander’s Nut Cookies 

Ingredients

1 package unsalted margarine at room temperature
3/4 cup sugar
2 and a half cups of white flour
1 bag of vanilla sugar
1/2 teaspoon of rose water
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Preparation

Mix the margarine, sugar and vanilla sugar in a food processor. Gradually add the flour, rose water and nuts.

Roll out part of the dough on a floured surface with a rolling pin to a thickness of 1 cm. and create with the help of a glass or a form.

Place the curved dough in a baking pan lined with parchment paper at equal intervals (3 cm apart) and bake in a hot oven at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes until a light brown color is obtained.

Leave to cool and store in a sealed box. Before serving, sprinkle powdered sugar for decoration.

Edan grew up in Tenfly, New Jersey and at the age of 18 he immigrated to Israel, lived in his grandparents' house and was adopted by a lovely family from Kibbutz Hatzor.
